This glossary can help you prepare for the IELTS writing tasks related to the Creativity in Art.

activity: noun; A thing that a person or group does or has done.; Example: Are there any other activities being held in connection with the exhibition?
display: noun; An electronic device for the visual presentation of data or images.; Example: what is its theme and what objects are on display?
encourage: encourage; Stimulate the development of (an activity, state, or belief).; Example: This visit will be part of our school’s activities to encourage the students to take part in social surveys.
entrance ticket: noun phrase; A ticket allowing the bearer to go into a place, such as a museum, monument, etc.; Example: I would like to inquire if there is any discount available on entrance tickets for students.
exhibition: noun; A public display of works of art or items of interest, held in an art gallery or museum or at a trade fair.; Example: As part of a student social survey project, you are organizing a group to visit a historical exhibition in a small town.
grateful: adjective; Feeling or showing an appreciation for something done or received.; Example: I would be grateful if you could supply me with the following information.
information: noun; Facts provided or learned about something or someone.; Example: I would be grateful if you could supply me with the following information.
necessary: noun; Needed to be done, achieved, or present; essential.; Example: If so, how much is the discount and what is the minimum number of students necessary to qualify for it?
qualify: verb; Be entitled to a particular benefit or privilege by fulfilling a necessary condition.; Example: If so, how much is the discount and what is the minimum number of students necessary to qualify for it?
social survey: noun phrase; A Social Survey involves obtaining information in a standardised from large groups of people.; Example: As part of a student social survey project, you are organizing a group to visit a historical exhibition in a small town.
